Gender Based violence sensitization forum for health workers and civil society

GBV is one of the most common and socially condoned kinds of human rights violations and cuts beyond nationality, race, class, ethnicity, and religion. It is currently a major source of inequality in Kenya. It has far-reaching social and economic consequences for families, communities, and the entire country, as well as grave national security implications.

In response to the GBV menace PHILIA Mission Kenya in partnership with the ministry of health, Children departments and civil society has developed a Technical Working Group which will work towards its prevention.

The Technical Working Group is therefore an avenue where problems are identified and solutions proposed for action on matters GBV in Nyeri County. It is also an avenue for referral pathway to access justice for the victims.

The Event was attended by the in charge Gender based violence prevention coordinator Madam  Lydia Njaraba, Sexual reproductive health coordinator for Nyeri Central Madam Susan Kamau, Tripple threat coordinator Mr Joseph Muriithi and the area senior chief Madam Mary Gitonga
